Men’s Competitions

Weekend Men’s Competitions (Sundays)

  • Names to be on list by 11.00 am on day of comp.
  • Play starts from 12:00 pm from the white markers, generally.
  • All players must report to the office 10 minutes before hit off time.  Failure to do so may incur a 2 stroke penalty.
  • All competitors must have an official Australian Golf Handicap or an Apollo Bay Golf Handicap.
  • An entry fee of $5.00 is to be paid before commencing play.  $20 per Sunday is added to the N/P Jackpot on the 1st or the 10th hole.
    • N/P Jackpot to be the first ball completely inside the length of the metal top of the N/P marker measured from the inside edge of the hole.  All grades eligible on all Mens events.  Open only to ABGC male members.
  • There will usually be2 grades if more than 15 competitors:
    • A grade – handicaps of 0 to 18;
    • B grade – 19 to 36.
  • Daily N/P in both grades on holes 1/10 and 9/18.
  • Winners to receive vouchers or prizes.
  • In the event of a tie for any normal competition, the VGA countback system will apply.
  • Any HOLE IN ONE on competition days will be rewarded with $200 sponsors prize.
  • Any EAGLE on a Par 4 hole wins a dozen balls in the Eagles.
  • Nest on Competition Days.
  • A player may not play on the course on the day of a competition BEFORE the competition, unless taking part in some other organised Club Competition, eg. KOs, June Tournament events.
  • LADIES are welcome to play in Mens competitions.

Foursomes Championships

  • Aggregate 2 week event held in June/July.
  • Winners to recieve trophies.
  • If a tie, a sudden death playoff shall be held commencing at holes 1, 2, 3, etc. until the winner is obtained.

Wednesday Men’s Competitions

  • Names to be on list by noon Wednesdays for 12:30 pm Shotgun Start off the white markers.
  • Report to the office 10 mins before start and pay $5.00 entry fee before commencing play.  Late arrival may result in a two stroke penalty or disqualification.  9 holes fee $2.
  • If there are more than 15 players there will be two grades.
  • A Grade will be for handicaps from 0 to 18 and B Grade will be from 19 to 36.  Prizes will depend on the number of players in each grade.  There will also be a 9 hole competition.
  • Daily N/P in both grades on holes 1/10 and 9/18. N/P Jackpot available on holes 1 and 10.
  • In the 4 Weeker events (best 3 or all 4 rounds Net aggregate) the winner and R/U will receive prizes.
  • In the event of a tie the 4 week prize will be shared.
  • Players participating in all 4 rounds will receive a ball except for the winner and runner up.
  • V.G.A. Countback system will apply in the event of a tie in the daily event.
  • HOLE IN ONE and EAGLE as per Sunday Conditions.

Stableford and Par Championships

  • Aggregate 3 week events on Sundays (May / June & August / September).
  • Winner and runner-up (one grade only) to receive trophies.  The titles can be shared.
