Saturday September 2nd: Mixed 4-person Ambrose 18 holes cancelled and Sunday September 3rd: Men’s 18 hole stroke and Monthly Medal also cancelled due to wet and blustery weather.

Thursday August 31st:

A beautiful sunny day saw 11 women compete in an 18 hole par event. The winner was Vicki Hannah with -1 and runner-up was Janice McKenzie with -4. Janice also claimed the nearest the pin prize on 1st/10th hole. Special mention goes to Caroline Wren who parred the 2nd hole for the 3rd time in a row which combined with a good score for the 18 holes resulted in her handicap being reduced by a stroke.

Wednesday August 30th:

The Men played 18 holes of stableford plus “1 Mulligan per hole”.15 players in one grade produced the following winners: Ken Johnson, 18, 36 points. Runner-up Don Wagstaff, 10, 38 points on a count-back from John Nankervis. Nearest the pin 1st/10th Chris Hansen, B Grade Lance Thomas and on the 9th/18th : Ian Richardson.

Monday August 28th:

Women’s 9 hole stroke event was won by Sandra Toone 48-13-34 and runner-up was Sandra Kent 45-10-34. The putting was won by Cheryle Polgeest with 13 putts.

Sunday August 27th:

The men’s Stableford Championship 2nd round was won by Peter Collard, 18, 40. Runner-up, Don Wagstaff. 10, had 36 points. Nearest the pin 1st/10th in A Grade was Brian McKenzie and in B Grade Lance Thomas took the honour.

Thursday August 24th:

Ten women competed in an 18 hole stroke event which included monthly medal. The winner was Stacey Thomas with 89-15-74. Runner-up was Jean Hansen on a count-back from Vicki Hannah,(94-14-80) 121-41-80 nett. Putting A Grade was Kerryn Wagstaff 30 putts and in B Grade Jeanette Dodds won with 33 putts. The best gross score was achieved by Stacey Thomas with 89 and her 74 nett scored her the monthly medal as well.

Wednesday August 23rd:

The Men played 9 holes of stroke plus “1 Mulligan per hole”. 9 players in one grade produced the following winners: Ken Johnson, 18, 30 nett. Runner-up Ray Matthews, 20, 31. Nearest the pin 1st: Chris Hansen and on the 9th: Ken Johnson.

Monday August 21st:

Women’s 9 hole stroke event was won by Janice McKenzie 45-12-33 followed by Sandra Toone 47-12 ½ – 35 ½ .
The putting in A Grade was won by Margaret Smith 13 putts, and in B Grade Jean Hansen won with 17 putts.

Sunday August 20th:

Men’s Stableford Championship 1st round was won by Brian McKenzie, 17, with 35 points. Runner-up was Craig McKenzie, 8, on a count-back from Ray Matthews, 20, with 34 points. Nearest the pin on 1st/10th for A Grade was Bob Bedson and in B Grade Ray Matthews was closest. On 9th/18th Craig McKenzie was nearest the pin.

Men’s Stableford Championship- Round 1.
If anyone is interested in having professional golf lessons, we are endeavouring to get the professional from Anglesea to hold clinics and private sessions in Apollo Bay either late September or early October possibly on a Monday.
